Dental sealant application

The use of dental sealants is a good means of prevention. Pits and frissures found on the chewing surface of our teeth can be too deep, which makes oral hygiene along these surfaces difficult. When brushing our teeth at home, we cannot always clean the grooves properly. As a result, accumulation of bacteria makes dental caries common in these areas. Sealants are thin plastic-like coating applied to the chewing surface of the molars. This coating prevents the accumulation of plaque and formation of dental cavities in our teeth.
